• Preventing moisture buildup is important since if it is moist even for only for a few days … it quickly rusts. Any water left on your firearm is very bad because it quickly rusts which if not dealt with, ruins it. That’s why gun cleaners are essential.
• Sometimes using a traditional bench vise damages your firearm so experiment using a gun vise to secure it instead. Doing so will likely prevent scratches on the inside barrel and other gun parts. While you are at it, also consider using a gun cleaning mat which prevents damaging wooden tables when drips or spills occur.
• Lastly, when storing your solvents make sure it is stored in an upright position and always check to see if the lid is securely tightened to avoid leaks. When you take your solvents with you for a practice shoot away from home, place them in a gun cleaning kit bag or tackle box. This prevents that “Oh No!” when you forgot to separate from your every-day gear.
